I was born in Somerville Massachusetts into a musical family and grew up in Brockton, the city of Champions Rocky Marciano, Marvelous Marvin Hagler, and a fledgling musical outfit known, back in 1966, as The Orphans that later evolved into the nationally well known group Orphan, featuring Jonathan Edwards.

My grandfather played drums, violin, mandolin, and trumpet.  My dad was an accomplished pianist, my uncle a jazz saxophone and clarinet player, while almost every other member of my family played either guitar or piano.  With music surrounding almost every family event while growing up, I developed a decided love for music and performance by the tender age of three, singing traditional Polish folk songs for any audience willing to listen to me.

However, my true musical development began during the early 1960s when guitar bands such as The Ventures, Duane Eddy, Link Wray, and Buddy Holly, captured my imagination.  At around age 12, I got my first Kay acoustic guitar.  Fueled further by the 60s British musical revolution, I formed and played bass guitar in my first band in 1965, a three-piece known as The Crystal Syrup—a name rather blatantly indicative of the mushrooming 60s psychedelic era.

Although not formally trained on guitar, I am primarily self-taught and was enormously inspired by the 1960s musical explosion, Beatlemania, "British invasion" and musical diversity—sorely missing from some of the contemporary and popular music of today.  These influences tend to come out in my current songwriting.

I also began studying the drums in 1995.  From 1999-2000 I played drums for a very LOUD 3-piece band that never made it out of the basement rehearsal phase.  Nonetheless, it provided me with some practical drumming experience at the possible expense of a little hearing loss.

Right after that I started songwriting and recording myself as a solo performer.  Then I spent almost two years performing at open mikes and a variety of museums, artistic venues, and outdoor festivals with vocalist Melissa Beth Klayton in a duo known as KarMel.  We performed originals and covers and I sang harmonies, played guitar, and began writing more original songs.

From that point onward I have continued songwriting and performing my own original material at a variety open mikes and singer-songwriter showcases in and around the Central and Eastern Massachusetts areas and eventually getting enough recognition to score many feature slots.  At the same time I have been playing percussion and bass guitar with several other local singer-songwriters just to keep my accompaniment and collaborative musical skills fresh.

Right now I’m working in my own 24-track home studio on my first official CD scheduled for an August 2006 release.  This is an exciting time for me musically and my goal is to reach out to audiences far and wide and hopefully make an impression and perhaps touch someone in the same unique way that music has influenced me over the years.
